On 6 April 2026, the Country Coordinating Mechanism for AIDS, Tuberculosis, and Malaria in Indonesia (CCM Indonesia) invited members of the CCM/TWG Malaria, the Writing Team, and relevant partners to attend a briefing on the Global Fund Malaria Funding Request template for Grant Cycle 8 (GC8) covering the 2027–2029 period. The meeting took place on Wednesday, 8 April 2026, from 13:00 to 15:00 WIB in a hybrid format, held at the BKPK of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Indonesia and via Zoom.

This activity marked an important step in the GC8 proposal development process, particularly following the announcement of Indonesia’s allocation letter in March 2026. During the session, participants were introduced to the template to be used, namely the Tailored for Transition High Impact Portfolios approach, which is designed to support countries transitioning towards sustainable programme financing.

In addition to the template briefing, the meeting agenda included preparations for the country dialogue process for the malaria component. This process is critical to ensure that the proposal reflects national programme needs while incorporating inclusive input from a broad range of stakeholders.

The meeting brought together cross-sector participants, including representatives from government institutions, international organisations, academia, and civil society. The involvement of the GC8 Funding Request Writing Team was also essential in ensuring the technical robustness of the proposal to be developed.

Through this meeting, all stakeholders are expected to gain a shared understanding of the proposal’s structure and substance, enabling a more efficient drafting process and the development of a strong Funding Request to support malaria elimination efforts in Indonesia.
