On 3 March 2026, the Country Coordinating Mechanism for AIDS, Tuberculosis, and Malaria in Indonesia (CCM Indonesia) invited members of the CCM/TWG Malaria, the Writing Team, and relevant partners to attend a meeting on the development of the Global Fund Malaria Funding Request for Grant Cycle 8 (GC8) covering the 2027–2029 period. The meeting was held virtually on Thursday, 5 March 2026, from 13:00 to 16:00 WIB via Zoom.
This meeting formed part of a series of strategic discussions in the preparation of the GC8 funding proposal. The primary focus was to provide updates on the Funding Request process and to deliberate on the key programme priorities for malaria to be proposed in the upcoming funding cycle.
Discussions on key priorities were critical to ensure that the proposal aligns with national programme needs and the strategic direction of the Global Fund. These priorities will serve as the foundation for designing more effective interventions, including strengthening health systems, improving service quality, and expanding programme coverage in endemic areas.
The meeting brought together a broad range of cross-sector stakeholders, including representatives from ministries, international organisations, academia, and civil society. The involvement of the Malaria GC8 Funding Request Writing Team was also essential in ensuring that all technical and strategic inputs are effectively incorporated into the proposal development process.
Through strong collaboration, the resulting GC8 Funding Request proposal is expected to support the accelerated and evidence-based elimination of malaria in Indonesia in a sustainable manner.
