On 30 March 2026, the Country Coordinating Mechanism for AIDS, Tuberculosis, and Malaria in Indonesia (CCM Indonesia) invited members of the CCM/TWG Malaria and relevant partners to attend a meeting on the reprogramming of remaining funds (savings) from Grant Cycle 7 (GC7) for 2026. The meeting was held virtually on Wednesday, 1 April 2026, from 09:00 to 12:00 WIB via Zoom.

This meeting followed guidance from the Global Fund Country Team (CT GF) during their February 2026 visit, which emphasised the need to optimise budget absorption through programme adjustments (reprogramming). This process involves modifications to programme scope and activities without exceeding the approved budget ceiling and requires endorsement from the CCM/TWG Malaria.

The main agenda included the presentation of the final GC7 savings reprogramming plan by the Ministry of Health (MoH) PR and the Perdhaki PR, as well as updates on the preparation of the Global Fund GC8 Funding Request for the malaria component.

The meeting served as a strategic platform to ensure that remaining funds are utilised optimally to enhance the effectiveness of malaria programmes, including strengthening field-level interventions and improving the quality of health services. It also played an important role in maintaining continuity between GC7 programme implementation and GC8 programme planning.

By bringing together a wide range of cross-sector stakeholders, the meeting is expected to result in well-informed, needs-based decisions, while further reinforcing efforts to accelerate malaria elimination in Indonesia.
