The Ministry of Health of the Republic of Indonesia, through the Directorate of Health Human Resources Quality, organises the Meeting on the Development of Digital Learning Media for Refresher Training in Malaria Microscopy for Medical Laboratory Technologists (ATLM) (Media Review) from 4 to 6 June 2026 at Aston Kartika Grogol Hotel & Conference Centre, West Jakarta. The meeting serves as a follow-up to the review process of the digital media script for malaria microscopy training previously conducted in May 2026.
The meeting aims to further refine and identify improvements to the storyboard for the digital learning media developed collaboratively by the module development team and the digital learning media team. The programme agenda includes discussions on health human resources quality policy, the current malaria situation in support of malaria elimination efforts in Indonesia, as well as a series of focus group discussions (FGDs) covering malaria microscopy training materials. Topics discussed range from general malaria overview, microscope use and maintenance, identification of malaria blood smears, the use of Rapid Diagnostic Tests (RDTs), to malaria laboratory management.
The meeting involves various national and international institutions, including the Directorate of Communicable Diseases of the Ministry of Health, World Health Organization Indonesia, central and regional public health laboratories, provincial and district health offices, professional organisations, and Global Fund implementing partners. Representing OUCRU Indonesia, Lenny Ekawati participates as one of the module development team members.
Through the development of this digital learning media, the programme is expected to strengthen the capacity of Medical Laboratory Technologists (ATLM) in malaria diagnosis, while also supporting efforts to standardise competencies and accelerate malaria elimination in Indonesia.
