As part of its commitment to strengthening evidence-based malaria control in Indonesia, OUCRU Indonesia has been invited by the Directorate of Communicable Diseases, Ministry of Health of the Republic of Indonesia, to serve as a resource institution in the Consultative and Coordination Meeting on Monitoring Mass Mosquitos Net Distribution in High Malaria-Endemic Areas for 2025–2026. The meeting will take place on 6–7 July 2026 at the Directorate General of Health Human Resources, Jakarta.

The meeting aims to establish a shared methodology for monitoring and evaluating the effectiveness of mass mosquitos net distribution programmes implemented across malaria-endemic districts and municipalities. Discussions will focus on survey methodology, coverage indicators, sampling strategies, data collection procedures, and reporting mechanisms to support consistent monitoring and evidence-informed programme implementation.

Representing OUCRU Indonesia, researchers will contribute technical expertise across several key sessions, including mass mosquitos net survey methodology, sampling techniques and survey instruments, and field data collection methods. These sessions are designed to strengthen the capacity of programme implementers and ensure that monitoring activities generate reliable data for evaluating the effectiveness of malaria vector control interventions.

The programme will also include interactive discussions, case studies, and knowledge exchange between national programme managers, researchers, and technical partners. By bringing together stakeholders from government and research institutions, the meeting seeks to promote a harmonised approach to monitoring malaria interventions and strengthen the use of operational evidence in national malaria control efforts.

OUCRU Indonesia's participation reflects its continued commitment to supporting the Ministry of Health through scientific collaboration and technical assistance in malaria research and surveillance. By contributing expertise in survey methodology and field implementation, OUCRU Indonesia aims to support the generation of high-quality evidence that informs policy, strengthens programme performance, and advances Indonesia's efforts towards malaria elimination.
